These horses are more commonly know as Trestles, and are used to hold a beam (a 4x12 inch beam) and smaller plank (1x12 plank to hold tools), to form a Japanese beam bench. You can also make some lower ones, about 8-14” high for Low Bean Bench. I built mine 20 years ago to make the Beam Bench, with the trestle permanently draw pegged joined. I hate those 'in the wall' styrofoam over-boxes. Considering any top plate openings and the drywall edges will be sealed, how is any measurable pressure differential ever going to develop ? That is the only way flow happens. An utter waste of material and time, and is just more junk that winds up in a landfill at some point. The hacks that pulled this idea out of their arse should immolate themselves: they made housing more expensive with zero benefit to persons or the environment.
